How it's baked

On a random morning, while baking croissants I decided to try making one in porcelain later that day in my studio. That worked out :)  I'm rolling these cuties since 2017 and they are only for sale here in my shop.

All croissants are individual handmade by me.  them with 24krt gold details or shiny mother of pearl. These are wearable art pieces you need handle with care.

They are fired 3 times between 960 and 1250 degrees celcius. This takes 6 whole days in total. The back of the croissants are unglazed, otherwise they will melt on the "bake tray". Between rolling the slabs of clay and putting them finished in their jewelry box takes weeks and a lot of patience ;)

I produce only small batches made with love and care. The colors depend on the season and what mood I'm in :) Every is colour is made from a different kind of clay.

When the gold croissant will be available?

I work with different kinds of clay and temperatures. Producing a batch of gold porcelain croissants has to fit in in my schedule. I need enough works of porcelain to fill the kiln with. Adding the gold is very time consuming, expensive and toxic. I can't work in my studio after using it and during firing it. On top of that it almost always needs to be refired 1 or 2 times. This literal messes up a lot of studiotime ;) This is why I only make them a couple times a year. Of course always in november and december for Christmas.
